Women Mobilizing Women (WMW) hosted an evening with Amanda Lang, where Ms Lang spoke about turning discomfort into success and happiness. In the spirit of the truly uplifting night, WMW wanted to keep the momentum going and make a special donation to help lift up and make an impact on some young adults.
For the Love of Youth, or FLY as we affectionately call it, is an organization that was created to assist youth transitioning out of the child welfare system into their first independent home by providing gently-used furnishings. The idea of FLY began 15 years ago when Doriana Zohil-Morton and David Morton of MAC Furnished Residences had some furniture they wished to donate and recognized an opportunity to impact many lives. They began working with the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada to connect with youth that required furnishings. Fast forward over a decade and we can say that we have truly made a difference. To date over 65 youth have received furniture donations towards their first homes. FLY is furnishing hope.
Proud sponsor of the evening, Doriana Zohil-Morton of The MAC Group,
presented a donation to Valerie McMurtry of the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada.
